Timothy Muffitt, Music Director, Music School Festival Orchestra

The Music School Festival Orchestra is underwritten by the Hultquist Foundation of Jamestown, NY

The MSFO is a major component of the curriculum and attracts musicians from leading music programs across the United States and around the world. Timothy Muffitt, music director and conductor of the Baton Rouge Symphony and the Lansing Symphony, is the principal conductor for the five-concert series by the MSFO. The orchestra rehearses daily for the majority of the seven weeks and performs its concerts in Chautauqua’s 5,000-seat Amphitheater.

In 2012, the concerts are scheduled for July 2, July 9, July 16, July 23, August 6 and August 13. Visit this Web site after March 31 for the 2012 orchestral repertoire.

"I found the orchestral experience at Chautauqua to be one of the most influential and inspiring experiences I’ve had. With Maestro Muffitt, the great variety of repertoire, and amazing fellow colleagues, I feel I’m walking away a much better orchestral musician."
